Our local is still in the formative stage. A team of volunteers is working with our representatives at PSAC to organize our first general assembly where we will elect our executive committee and a negotiating team.<\/p>\n
This is the core group that will ensure the local operates correctly on matters of policy and finance. They also will \u00a0work with management to make sure the collective agreement is enforced.<\/p>\n
The negotiating team is made up of three individuals and their alternates who work with PSACs professional negotiator to establish a collective agreement.<\/p>\n
Stewards are\u00a0the first point of contact for most labour relations issues. They ensure the collective agreement is adhered to, help resolve issues and participate in the grievance process.<\/p>\n
